Life & Career
Youth
Snip Beastbane, born of Eberharn Beastbane and [data expunged] in the wilderness of Félicianne, in the early summer of 14 994. She was raised by her father and one of the dragons in his care, a polar zudurach. She grew into toddlerhood at a suprisingly quick pace, reaching the mental and physical acuity of a three year old after only a year. This growth slowed over the next few years, and teenhood was reached at the average human age.
Snip has very few memories of her time living in the wild however. Only a year after she appreared in Bane's (her father) care, both moved, along with the expansive pack of countles beast of various origins, monstrous, faeric and magical alike, into the Ranch; a deep dungeon built under Thunderpeak; under the duty of Arh'Moxielei Cleaveluck, a powerful business woman. She grew among a wide array of people, being taught academics by the moon elf mage Abigail. Snip was a curious soul and a fast learner; who quickly took interest in the body. Starting with the beast in her father's care, she began observing the biology of the fauna, and gaining a significant understanding of the way bodies interact. Soon, Vispen, the Ranch butcher, took her under his wing to teach her about medecine and butchery. Around the same time, the Skei sisters introduced the young girl to religion; and while they tried to convert her to follow Villis-Phistolas, Snip preffered to join Barnebos
Despite spending the vast majority of her life in the Ranch, Snip has also experiences life outside of it; tough that doesnt mean her world views are any less skewed. She would go on yearly hunting trips with her father, which lasted from two to three months; during which they would travel through Kand'hur, her father leading migrations for a pleathora of speicies. During these trips, she would interact with some outsiders, notably Monon'ico, a powerful druid or the Miracle Grove, and Uncle Wave, a rogue eldritch anchor privateer.
Career
Snip was not officially allowed to work for the Ranch before reaching a certain age; and was promised an official title on the next Ranch expansion, which would also give her her very own division. However, that did not stop her from experimenting and rebeling against the laws of nature. At only six years old, she had gained access to the butchery, winning Vispen's heart over by bringing him an actual deer heart, which she had butchered out of the creature all by herself. It was in this labutchery that she learned all the best butchering practices, and with many discection and viviscections, became able to treat simple ailments without the use of magic. That wasn't enough however, and she started experimenting, especially fascinated with transplantations.
Despite her care, these operations most often than not resulted in failiure; even when the subject survive the final outcome rarely was what she had envisionned. Despite her repeated failiures, she would try again and again, until after praying to whoever was listening, she managed to catch the attention of Barnebos, who saw fit to pay mind to her projects. In 13 500, Snip became a cultist of Barnebos, which allowed her to overcome the hurdle which has been stumping her progress; making her rate of sucessful operations skyrocket. At only nine years old, she sucessfully removed and transplanted the eye of Skerr and Skivv, the rat twins, switching them to each other. She became more and more confident in her craft, creating living chimeras of whatever beasts crossed her path, altering and "improving" creatures as she saw fit, and even starting to work with the dead.
In 15 303, with a bit of help from Abigail and a surrogate mother, Snip sucessfully grew an empty body around the remains of a phantom, allowing it to have a physical body to inhabit. This phantom happeneds to be her Monon'ico's daughter, Alice; who was killed at the age of 10 a bit before Snip was born. Alice then went on to join her uncle Wave's crew only 3 years later, and lives well to this day. This operation was suprisingly easy, as the phantom's soul was extremely potent and willing, facilitating the complex process.
Other bodies grown from scatch were Thing and Mawth; created as companions for other members of the ranch, they were grown out of an artificial womb chamber that Snip developped after the rise of Alice, wanting to have more control over the generation of the spliced being. It took many months and failed attempts for Thing to be viable, it's genetic so modified, it became independant from any known speicie; but Snip finally cracked the code in late 13 505. Only a few months later, she'd created a variant of this new beast she'd brought to life. With the collaboration of Dorothy, this new speciment, Mawth, was imbued of precursor essence, making it an anchor.
It was at the age of 15 that Snip attempted her second sentient undead, this time without a familiar spirit desirous of a body to her side. She spent weeks and weeks carefully selecting parts to craft the perfect flesh golem, which she imbued with many colonies of symbiotic insects. It was once again a resounding success, apart from her left ocular cavity which refuses to host an eye.In 13 510, With the next Ranch expansion on the horizon, Lieutenant Mox tasked Snip with creating a new beast that would be tenacious and low maintenance. They didnt have to live long, or be pretty, but had to be ravenous, unstoppable, and able to withstand the Biohazard's infections. Snip got to work and created the Flurries, muscular quadtupedal beasts of skin and bone, without head or tail, brutes of pink skin and hoofed digit. This was a satisfying result, and Snip was given her own division in the 13 511 Ranch expansion, sharing the sterile labutchery with her mentor Vispen.
